Project description

eKiosk, together with CompuGroup Medical SE & Co. KGaA (CGM), has conducted a pilot project for the digital equipment of medical practices.

Between July and November 2021, ten VANA terminals have been delivered from the eKiosk site in Dresden to the CGM headquarters in Koblenz. From there, the devices went to the doctor’s offices involved in the pilot project, where they offer patients a digitally assisted check-in.

Technical implementation

The terminals offer intuitive self-check-in for patients on a 22″ full HD display with touch function. This noticeably reduces the workload on the reception desk at doctors’ offices and effectively shortens waiting times.

To make the check-in process as efficient as possible, the terminals are equipped with an eGK reader (eGK = electronic health card) and a QR code reader.

This allows patients to register contactlessly and then proceed directly to the waiting area. The coupling with the physician practice software already in use in the practice enables a smooth workflow.

The built-in eGK reader from Ingenico is gematik certified and therefore meets the necessary standards for connection to the telematics infrastructure. gematik certification ensures the availability of future offline and online services in the healthcare sector and is therefore often indispensable.
