In addition to the differentiation according to purpose, the hardware of an info terminal can be differentiated according to further criteria:

Installation area & type

Is the device located outdoors, is it protected inside buildings or is it a mixed form? Furthermore, you can choose between wall-mounted or free-standing terminal.

Intended use

The applications are extremely diverse. From A as in industrial safety instruction terminal to Z as in access control terminal.

Interactivity

Is the device interactive (touch screen) or passive? Does the device allow for interaction, e.g. via a touch screen, a keyboard or a purely digital display?

Screen diagonal

Devices with a monitor larger than 32" are usually called Large Format Display (LFD). Smaller screens are used for specific use cases such as transactions, navigation, and so on.
