Let digital signage and digital self-service applications be promoted with bridging aid

Numerous German companies have found themselves in a very tense economic situation as a result of the lockdowns. But the companies are recovering. Nevertheless, sensible investments in digital technologies are currently being put on hold or postponed to subsequent years. This will ultimately put the brakes on the digitisation drive and the aspirations of the Federal Government throughout Germany. In order to counteract this, the Federal Government is supporting companies that would like to implement their planned projects this year after all with the bridging aid III Plus until the end of October. Digitisation projects are subsidised with up to 20,000 euros.

What is the explicit funding for a digitisation project?

Bridging aid III subsidises fixed operating costs. The breakdown is as follows:

  • more than 70 % drop in turnover ⇒ 100 % promotion
  • 50 % to 70 % drop in turnover ⇒ 60 % subsidy
  • at least. 30 % drop in turnover ⇒ 40 % promotion

Eligible fixed costs also include investments in digitisation, which will be subsidised by up to EUR 20 000 during the funding period. If you want to implement a project for classic digital signage or interactive advertising displays, for example, the costs will be reimbursed depending on the loss of sales. Licenses of our visitor management software redpengoo would also be covered at the respective percentage.

Who is eligible for funding?

To qualify for the assistance, there must be a Corona-related drop in sales of at least 30 percent in each month for which the grant is requested – compared to the reference month in 2019. In principle, companies with a global turnover of up to EUR 750 million in 2020, solo self-employed persons and self-employed members of the liberal professions in their main occupation in all sectors are eligible for funding. Companies that generated more than €750 million in revenue in 2020 are eligible if their industry was directly affected by the lockdown. This applies to the retail and wholesale trade, the event and culture industry, the hotel industry, the catering trade and the travel industry. For November and December 2020, businesses receiving November and/or December aid are not eligible to apply. The application can be made by a tax adviser, auditor, lawyer or sworn accountant. You can find more information about the application here.
